The most pride

Cartrefi Cymru supports people to lead fulfilled lives, at home and in the community. Providing the best support so that people achieve the best outcomes is the thing that gives us the most pride.

The best support is made up of lots of different things, and we are proud of them all.

Top of the list are all our brilliant support workers and their team managers. They are the ones who work with people and directly help them to achieve the best outcomes. You can meet a few of them here.

But our brilliant support staff didn't just arrive from nowhere fully formed! So we are proud of all the things that help us to have great staff.

Our trustees and managers at all levels - who set high standards and expectations and work hard to be approachable and supportive as well as challenging

Our human resources section - who help us to recruit the right people and make sure we take up references and carry out DBS checks.

Our staff and quality development section - who make sure staff have an in-depth induction, on-going training and support with qualifications.

And we are proud of our other specialist sections that do all sorts of vital backroom work. Like our Finance section which pays staff wages and keeps our suppliers and auditors happy. Like our ICT section that keeps us all connected and provides the platform for everything from instant communication to electronic payslips.

But there are lots of other things that we are proud of too.

One of our attributes that we are really proud of is being Welsh. Click here to look at how we are backing Wales.

Marguerite O Brien

Marguerite O'Brien, Area Manager, Conwy

"I have been working with Cartrefi since 2009.  I have had over 25 years experience in a variety of local authority social services roles with both older people and learning disabilities, both in London and Conwy I have worked with many, many providers of services. Most recently, I was the Monitoring Officer for Conwy Learning Disability Team and spent many years monitoring Conwy's externally commissioned Supported Living Services, many of which were run by Cartrefi.  I was so impressed by the professionalism of the organisation, its caring and experienced staff, the policies and guidelines it had developed, and the vision of the CEO, that when the opportunity arose for a post with Cartrefi, I jumped at it!  I have never regretted making this decision and I am proud to work for this great not-for-profit organisation".
